FAQs

BLUE KEY® CBD HAS PUT TOGETHER SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

FOR CBD OIL AND HEMP OIL.

 Is CBD Legal?

Yes. We have full tractability and legal documentation to ensure that we are in full compliance with all state, federal, and international regulations. Because we have the ability to completely remove the THC from our oil, we are able to ship our products across state lines and to dozens of countries around the world.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD, is the second most abundant and promising phytocannabinoid found naturally in the hemp plant. Phytocannabinoids are derived from plants such as hemp or echinacea that can interact and affect CB1 and CB2 receptors, in turn, the Endocannabinoid system.

What about your lab tests?

We test each batch multiple times by the time it is bottle and after it’s bottled. We take it very serious to live up to high standards. Even though this industry is not regulated at this time, we use GMP standards in everything we do. You can find our Blue Key™ Lab Tests here.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The Endocannabinoid system (ECS) supports the body’s natural responses to pain, stress, anxiety and many other issues. It is comprised of receptors that lie within the body; the brain, organs, connective tissues, and glands. These receptors are CB1 (found mostly in the brain and the central nervous system) and CB2 (found primarily in the immune system and even found on white blood cells). It’s primary function is creating homeostasis (balance) that works with all the other systems within the body. The ECS is a bridge that connects all our body’s organs and systems that helps balance the mind and body.

What are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids refer to the group of chemical compounds that act on cannabinoid receptors in cells in the Endocannabinoid system. Endo stands for endogenous, which means produced within the body. Endocannabinoids are neurotransmitters synthesized on demand and produced when the body signals they are needed. Phytocannabinoids are cannabinoids that occur naturally in the hemp plant.

How does CBD work?

Research has shown that CBD can trigger the body to build more endocannabinoid receptors throughout the nervous system and immune system to create homeostasis. CBD acts like the key that unlocks the receptors in the body.

Will CBD get me high?

Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two most abundant phytocannabinoid rich compounds found naturally in hemp. THC is responsible for the “high” feeling. CBD will not get you high but does have incredible health benefits.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are the oils that give cannabis and flowers their unique tastes and smells. Terpenes have been shown to work with the Endocannabinoid System in the same way as cannabinoids. They assist cannabinoids to penetrate the blood-brain barrier for faster absorption.

What is Full Specturm vs Broad Spectrum vs Isolate?

Full spectrum oil uses the full range of naturally occurring compounds of the hemp plant. It is rich not only in CBD but other cannabinoids such as; CBDA, CBG, CBN, CBC, THC, THCA, terpenes and other compounds. This will cause an 'entourage effect'.

We call our extract “Broad Spectrum”. Our oil removes most of the THC by means of short path distillation, then we use a following process called "remediation" to target only THC for removal. We remove THC below .01% by which most testing labs do not test (<LOQ). With that said, in full disclosure, we had our tincture tested fully by a lab analysis team with highly sensitive instruments and learned that Blue Key was at .0019% THC (way below the legal limits of .3%). This will still cause an 'entourage effect'.

Isolate is not considered a spectrum, it's simply 1 compound, example CBD or CBG - all by itself. While it's still good - there is no 'entourage effect'.

What is the entourage effect?

The entourage effect is the synergistic interaction from all the different compounds found in the entire plant; cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes, and fatty acids naturally found in cannabis. This includes about 100 phytocannabinoids (THC and CBD are phytocannabinoids, cannabinoids which occur naturally in plants.

What is the bioavailability?

It is used sublingual - we know it’s higher than oral consumption, but lower than inhalation’s highest rate at 56%.

How should I store my CBD?

It is best to store your CBD in an upright position in a room or spot with normal room temperature. It is best to keep away from extreme heat, light or moisture. A medicine cabinet or dry pantry would be a good place for storing CBD oil. Blue Key CBD will last 18 month stored properly. Do not leave in a hot car. The refrigerator can be a good option but not required.

How is CBD made?

Blue Key CBD is made from a proprietary medicinal cannabis strain. Our proprietary strain is a hybrid AC/DC x Cannatonic x (another naturally high CBD strain), all of which are known for their medicinal value. The cross-breeding of this naturally high CBD/low THC strain took place over a seven year period. We have a zero THC broad-spectrum oil. We achieve this through our proprietary extraction process that incorporates a gas chromatography method, allowing us to identify the naturally occurring THC and separate it out completely, instantly, while leaving intact the other synergistic components of the oil.

Where your product is grown?

We purchase the highest grade pharmaceutical hemp plants we can find. Our current batch is from Oregon. We also purchase from Colorado, Kentucky, Tennessee, - soon Missouri will be our primary growers.

How is it processed?

We have it processed via CO2 supercritical extraction in Oklahoma. As soon as Missouri is up and running (later this year or early next year) we will process our own using the same methods. We are partnering with a company who will provide the extractors and facilities.

Will it result in a positive drug test?

Blue Key CBD's Broad Spectrum line contains no detectable traces of THC in current state of the art lab monitoring equipment. Blue Key's Full Spectrum line does have <.03% THC - under legal limit.
